Bad Bubble - Sprinkler - Stereo Stickman

Bad Bubble Sprinkler

-

With two new albums on the horizon and a series of original covers continuing to draw interest on social media, the unmistakable Bad Bubble still takes the time to deliver a complete shift in style this season.

From the upcoming project Triumph of The Puissant, Sprinkler is an iconic and deeply moving ballad, with an impassioned and striking hook of doubled vocals and fullness to really reinforce the strength of this melodic rise.

While the Bad Bubble sound is often focused on story and sentiment exclusively, here we get a distinct and powerful verse-chorus structure – a sense of intimacy and desire during the build, and a brilliantly euphoric declaration of intense longing during the soulful conviction and multi-layered appeal of the hook. It’s the Bad Bubble sound, but reinvented – recrafted amidst a more mainstream sense of artistry, to really let the tune and feeling sink in with poignancy and heart.

As ever, the songwriting for Sprinkler is definitively personal, but the vagueness, the poetry and the urgency of the drop, all makes this a profoundly evocative listen for any and all who’ve felt the same sense of desire or desperation.

In my opinion, this is categorically the most memorable, musically satisfying, and perhaps emotionally impactful song from the extensive Bad Bubble repertoire to date. It’s a step in the direction of simplicity and realism in both the clarity and boldness of the voices, and in the honesty and relatable authenticity of the lyrics. The opening reference to Occam’s Razor is decidedly fitting; sometimes the simplest answers are the best.

“Stay with me” resounds and repeats in a way that cries out on behalf of that universal need to maintain connection. Meanwhile the piano rolls on, delicate and calming, with humble strings lighting up the outer edges with hints of incoming urgency; before the full crescendo of musicality storms through.
