Arhkota - Victoria - Stereo Stickman

Hypnotic vocal layers meander across the top of a dreamy, organic soundscape for this intimate and adoring new single from Arhkota.

Introducing the sound of the act in a bold and live-band manner, the song rises up from simple and fairly raw beginnings, through an electronically crafted arena of detail; including fragments of voice that rain down amidst the rhythm and provoke of the concept.

The melody switches gears halfway through, an unexpected break away, as hints of retro spoken-word flicker in and out of the mix.

The completed production is a little like shoegaze, but with an electronic, trip-hop-esque complexity as things build. And in the same instance, the song-writing slowly but surely connects – another unexpected quality, and an ode to a mother.

By the time the final fifth swings into view, these male and female voices are repeating the title concept in such a consuming way, that you can’t help but be swept away by it.

A really interesting, unusual yet increasingly enjoyable sound, freshly released from the brand new album Dreamy Hamilton.
