Amadante’s passion and positivity shine beautifully on this latest single. Despite the title’s likely nostalgic implications, A Perfect Day couldn’t be further from most expectations in terms of its style, set-up, and melody.
Amadante drives with natural optimism and purity throughout this single, both lyrically and vocally – his performance rises up in energy and enthusiasm as the detailed scene-setting of the verses pave the way with keen anticipation; towards the bright and uplifting hit of the hook. Underneath this though, the soundscape is surprisingly electronic, almost leaning towards classic EDM at certain moments. Synths swirl and envelope you, and meanwhile this heavy cut vocal strikes out like that of an indie rock anthem.
At the same time, the meandering piano-run adds organic, live musicianship, impressing for a whole other reason. Soon enough, its not the lyrics that guide the experience, it’s the vibrancy and beauty of the completed composition. Unexpectedly genre-fusing, energetic and genuine – everything surprises and satisfies all at once.
Coming in at a pretty perfect 3:31, A Perfect Day takes full advantage of every second, showcasing admirable, inspiring good vibes, attention to detail, and love. In other words, the song creatively underlines the very concept of a perfect day – seizing the moment, appreciating the little things, and really taking the time to be; right where you are. A wonderful songwriter.
