Featuring multi-layered electro-funk production and smooth, stylish vocals, Mindflow is a fresh collaborative release that quickly envelops listeners with a strong groove and classic, nostalgic energy.
Alex Coffey guides us through the track with a consistently likeable, impressively progressive soundscape, which moves through its layers and moments in a structurally immersive way. At the same time, vocalists D.T. Weeds and Mads Taylor inject a brilliant level of dynamic and contrast, both between melodies and the tone and style of their voices.
For the hook, D.T. keeps things seductive and soulful, allowing the natural strength of that chorus to slowly but surely weave its way into the listener’s mind. Elsewhere, Mads offers a certain quickness and attitude that pours further detail and personality into the process.
Then during the latter half, the two seem to freestyle in addictively rhythmic ways, uniting for the hook, and ultimately building something that’s addictive and close to impossible not to move your body or sing along to. Nicely done.
