The work that has gone into the production of both the music and the visuals here is unquestionable. The whole thing is fairly simple from a distance – it’s a fun track, loaded with confidence and tight dance moves – but to focus in on any selection of moments, audibly and visually, is to realize and appreciate just how much effort and professionalism has actually taken place.
A mighty debut, and one that introduces Alex Bar as precisely and authentically the artist he wishes to be. Inspired by the likes of Justin Timberlake, yet throwing in more than enough layers of alternative originality to give the song and video a little edge, Weapon is all at once nostalgic, fresh, and anthem-like in a classically youthful pop fashion.
