UK acoustic vibes blending long riffs and summertime world-music rhythms with conceptual depth. Akiva Zneimer takes us back to the lightness of the warmer seasons, with a song fusing rap and melody to that alt-folk bounce of a style once made underground famous by the likes of Will and the People, Dizraeli, and The Big Push.
There’s a humility to the sound, and perhaps more importantly, an inherent gratitude and self-awareness to the writing. Akiva Zneimer presents a stream of consciousness approach, reflecting with poetic and personal references on the imagery and experiences that make up a life, that motivate us, and that provoke deeper thought.
It’s complex and inspiring, an artist searching for answers, but also just an individual, a human, living with pure intentions. There’s plenty to unpack, but on the surface, this is a catchy jam of a track, far from the AI slop of recent months, and it’s a pleasure to lose yourself within for a while.
