3riple D - Whistle - Stereo Stickman

3riple D Whistle

-

Driving with a subtle use of the quirky sound-play implied by its title, 3riple D’s Whistle introduces itself with a surprisingly modest, likable and catchy whistle of a hook, and goes on to build a classic hip hop anthem around this.

The track is fairly mellow and spacious stylistically, yet confident and characterful enough to keep the artist’s name at the forefront of the experience.

Featuring a heavy bassline and effective use of stop-start production for impact, Whistle utilises its hook in a humble way – not overloading the listener with this riff or unique sound concept, but presenting it just enough so to get that melody running through your mind.

During the verses, 3riple D takes full advantage of his time on the mic, weaving a story with wordplay and personality that furthers the underlying good vibes and creative freedom of the soundscape. This includes multiple different flows to keep things interesting throughout.

Nicely done, well-crafted and easy to recognise – not to mention refreshingly clean-cut and clear when compared to the vast majority of hip hop releases of late.
