HXPE CXMPLEX Porcelain / Misfit: A Compelling Rock Fusion of Nostalgia & Pure Originality

-

Pop-punk verses and indie vocals with a slick bassline – HXPE CXMPLEX underlines a lifetime of creative passion, with the snappy lines, heavy tone, cool refrains and vocal diversity of the smooth new rock anthem Misfit.

From the 2026 EP Porcelain, Misfit storms into view with a brilliant groove – a perfect balancing of distorted guitars, bass, and addictive kicks. Meanwhile our frontman adds that indie rock / Brit Pop charm, with short, descending lines, and even a shift to falsetto and instrumental fuzz, as the energy and volume peak during the song’s hook.

Four songs in full make up the Porcelain EP, and the acoustic strum of Be Happy is quick to confirm the organic passion and precision of HXPE CXMPLEX – as well as their unique influences, and the skilful musicianship and writing.

This song is beautiful, something like grunge meets emo-rock and pop, a kind of modern-day melodic inflection, with deeply personal sentiments, and an old-school Cranberries-esque darkness and depth to the groove.

Be Happy cries out loud for you, its chorus resounding and looping in the mind, and it’s the perfect antidote to the trivial fakeness of forced joy and overproduction from much of the recent music realm.
