UK pop-punk is refreshing in itself, but here we get a fast-paced and catchy guitar riff at the forefront, vocals born to perform in this way, and a hugely anthemic earworm of a hook. Say Less blend nostalgia and character quite seamlessly, for the simple and infectious single Go To Hell.
Hopefully a live band still working hard to crush it in the grass roots venues, Say Less introduce their influences and sound, their powerful use of contrast and the subtle rasp and emotional authenticity of their music, with realness and charm here.
Go To Hell is aptly raw, gritty, intense, but also evocative and memorable. That’s an easy balancing of traits, and the call-and-response emo qualities build further on the comforting nostalgia of the sound.
