Real indie reverb and riffs for days, vocals that are beautifully alluring, pairing moments of bold passion and softness throughout – Feral Family have that independent energy and confidence to gift the music scene something outstanding this year.
So Far Behind is a six-track original EP, and it storms into view with the fast guitar groove and emotionally raw, hypnotic vocal dynamic of The Balance.
This opening song is sensational, a huge indie anthem with a kind of new-metal twist to certain moments, an immense chorus drop that’s euphoric at its peak, and an underlying literary style of writing that’s impressive, and fascinating.
Feral Family offer a kind of post-punk realism and natural ability that’s elevated by their clear affinity for writing songs that capture and hold your attention. Expect instrumental bursts of escapism, vocal nuance, lyrical depth and vulnerability, angst and intensity, lush melodies, and anthemic refrains. The musicianship is on point, the unity too. Well worth checking out this year.
