Having recently launched the single Up at The Top, UK songwriter and Ste Forshaw completes the process of evolving from depression to devotion, with the indie-folk intimacy and poetic musings, stories and sentiments, of the Bluebird EP.
Beginning with the hopeful harmonies and acoustic strum of a reverb-drenched There Is A Hard Edge, we’re introduced to the vulnerability and hopefulness of the EP, and of Ste Forshaw’s sound. The music outlines the love of a significant other, and reflects on the self in light of that, and it’s relatable, warming, honest, authentically recorded, and a pleasure to let play.
Featuring six original tracks, Bluebird notes a few stylistic shifts to hold attention throughout, not least of all for the full-band soul-rock swagger of the single Up At The Top, and even presents a few atmospheric indie-pop arenas of sound, for the likes of Ever Closer, to really celebrate versatility, and indeed, the changing emotional states presented in these stories.
