Eric Hagen - Accuse Me - Stereo Stickman

Eric Hagen Accuse Me

-

Midwest Americana icon Eric Hagan is renowned for his gospel-like depth of sound and story. His recent EP of originals, the five-track collection Americana Lonesome, is a fine example of the prowess, talent, focus and heartfelt escapism of his approach. And from that project, the mighty Accuse Me is a divinely soulful ode to both melancholic disconnection and self-reflective empowerment.

Seductive by design, this slow-moving arrangement of keys, horns, guitars and an overall organic groove, meets with subtle vocal harmonies and support, as Eric Hagen’s raspy vocal lead guides us through a blues-kissed story and song that feels both timeless and fresh.

The musicality has a hint of something Amy Winehouse to it, that big-band bravado as a backbone for a deeply evocative song of sadness and pain. The voice redirects things though, and Hagen’s unmistakable tone and style ringing loud, the song ultimately tumbling with drama and passion, towards an immense crescendo – a a profound moment of unity between all layers, singers, musicians, and sentiments.

The single Accuse Me is effectively a re-release this summer, through Young Outlaw Music (YOM). Tracks will continue to emerge over the coming weeks, as Eric Hagen gears up for the highly-anticipated release of his album Make Country Sad Again, expected this October.
