We’re in anthemic, driving or power ballad territory on the one hand, but on the other, we’re nowhere near that. The sound is gritty, purposeful, provocative, unsettling but satisfying, and the band – an anonymous outfit from Australia – hold our attention right the way through.
Superb lyrics, mighty structuring and musicianship, occasionally dissonant in melody but with a clear sense of identity and carefree artistic integrity regardless, all of which helps offer up something new.
