Recc tears b4 TRATR

Capturing a fine balance between hip hop’s contemporary realm and the greater depths of its history, and introducing the TrapBible debut artist release – Recc draws you in with sharp wordplay and performative flair combined, throughout the brand new album tears b4 TRATR.

Beginning with the snappy and likable bLYtz, already we’re immersed in a crisp and engaging realm – haunting keys, subtle riffs, trap rhythms and heavy bass, elevating the vocal character and ever-changing flow of the rapper in a way that naturally captivates.

Seven original tracks make up tears b4 TRATR, a project that grabs attention from the outset for its classic production and boldly distinct vocals and bars. Versatility is also a strength though, and this is clear as we move into the mellow energy and fearlessly reflective, introspective poetry and observations of shYne.

Still that Recc voice is unmistakable, even in this chilled out, metaphorical space. Whatever the vibe, the artist commits to the mood with faultless deliverance and purpose, and that’s what holds tight to your attention throughout this project.

octobYr intensifies things, rising energy and a strong bassline creating a whole new theatrical realm, within which Recc’s passion and stage presence prove increasingly compelling. Then for lottYdottY, haunting stillness and descending bass set free a stream of consciousness that’s scornful and again completely enthralling. The pace is mellow but the lyrics hit with gritty impact, balancing thoughts of love with those of a more defensive and uncertain aura.

The music is easy to get into, but there’s also plenty to appreciate throughout the nuance and intricacies of each set of bars. With every revisit, Recc connects the dots a little more strongly, making this a rewarding original hip hop project to escape into again and again.

remYnd is chilled out and well-produced for its late-night contemplation. The bars are clever, sharp and honest, underlining Recc’s profound ability as a storyteller – a sense of intention and literary skill that’s undeniably rare in modern hip hop. Once again, it takes more than a single listen to unwrap every idea and bar.

After this, the sudden choir-like embrace of talkYn recaptures any wandering minds, with its sheer creativity and the deep sense of wonder and possibility resounding throughout its complex lyrical journey.

Then to wrap things up, smYLz takes on a melodic and straight-shooting rap vibe, the groove and the production, the story and sentiments, all ringing loud to shine further light on the heartfelt appreciation and goals of our protagonist.

Recc impresses with this album, connects and entertains, refreshes – there’s a lot to like about tears b4 TRATR. Hopefully a few videos and reels along the way help this album reach the audience it deserves.
