ChaFra Demons Go Down (Feat. Aesaph)

-

Creative producer ChaFra has given his own music the elusive description of have genre multiple personality disorder. It’s a bold statement, but on listening to the creativity and hard-hitting freedom of Demons Go Down, it seems decidedly appropriate.

Having been saved by Faith, then spending his time playing guitar for the church, ChaFra soon found a passion for Dubstep, Hip Hop and Lo-fi, and made it his mission to bring great Dubstep music into the Christian realm. While there’s plenty of Christian rock and metal now circulating, to my knowledge there isn’t a huge amount of electronic sub-genre representation in the realm of Faith. Demons Go Down acts as a formidable driving force in that regard.

Built around a creative neo-classical to classic dubstep arrangement of heavy bass and beats, Demons Go Down features passionate vocal fragments that call out with volume and confidence, and also incorporates subtly warped panning and waves of synths and effects that add a kind of cinematic depth and darkness to the set-up.

It’s a captivating listen, forever evolving and changing gears, but always the track remains rooted amidst this sense of intensity, of pace and of concept. The music moves from gritty and unignorable, to delicate and melodic intermittently, and consistently showcases the talent and energy, the passion and precision, that ChaFra devotedly brings to the scene.

Also from the ChaFra repertoire is the distinctly different yet equally compelling Holy Ghost Kids. Versatility is a defiant strength of this unconfined approach to electronic production, and here we get a soulful EDM thread of rising anticipation – a touch of mainstream appeal that effectively envelopes listeners, offering that purity of escapism, before dropping in for a harder-hitting exploration of sound and rhythm.

Later things progress towards euphoric peaks, all the while the ability and emotional conviction of ChaFra as a producer and artist continues to raise the bar.

Fascinating original music, rooted in good vibes and appreciation of a higher power. Definitely an artist worth knowing about if you’re looking for that contemporary representation whilst holding close to your own Christian beliefs.
