Nostalgia is the word of the moment lately – a fact encapsulated by this old school ode to cinematic history that is ASTRA’s single and video Pulp Fiction.
Seamlessly intertwining his passion for pop culture, music, and film, Pulp Fiction is a rap anthem built in tribute to precisely the 1994 cult classic of the same name.
Stylistically we get a quirky mellow hip hop presentation with strong and, of course, nostalgic production. Soulful voices rain down for the hook, the title resounds to linger in memory, and in between these moments we get a timeless beat and clean, confident bars; which introduce the sound and playful style of ASTRA in a way that naturally fits.
Think nineties rap legends and mainstream breakthroughs, elevated by literal soundbites form the iconic film, and brought to life all the more so by ASTRAs own cinematic reimagining of scenes acted out for the accompanying visuals.
