Organic vibes and distinct vocal leadership guides with humility and calm, through an intriguingly arranged yet infectious new release, by singer, rapper and artist Yeno LND.
From the 11-ttrack album Indigo Desk, SHOWTIME is both smoothly melodic and atmospherically engaging. The single follows the breathy and intimate vocals of Yeno LND through a tuneful rap verse that feels aptly inspired by the contemporary scene.
At the same time, the underlying production features colourful layers of synth, keys and even real world samples of sirens and intensity. It’s a fascinating mix of elements, a likable groove but with hints of weight and pace as the details of the story unfold.
After the halfway point, the rap flow changes, the energy and tone shift gears, and the music reflects this. The lyrics consistently use a kind of short-lined listing format, but at the same time, there’s a story threading all of this together, and always we resolve to the catchy finish of the hook. The essence of SHOWTIME appears much more contemplative than its simple surface level implications.
These creative qualities continue throughout the Indigo Disk album, that balancing of the relevant and the freely expressive making Yeno LND a likable addition to the current realm. It’s a voice no doubt recognisable once it’s crossed your path.
