MIMAH - End Up Without - Stereo Stickman

MIMAH End Up Without

-

Quirky vocals and unique rhythmic production elevates the catchy writing and intriguing scenes of Mimah’s latest pop-fusion single End Up Without.

Somewhat retro in its fuzzy design and the unorthodox weight of these various drum hits, End Up Without meanders with mystique and character through its opening verse, later finding its feet amidst a simple, looping and melancholic hook – a mainstream twist that effectively helps fuse together the alternative and the accessible.

The track works its magic for all of these reasons, and then completely redirects things yet again for the rap verse and spoken segments of the latter half. The whole thing is incredibly personal and vulnerable yet captivating in its theatrical bravado and boldness.

Mimah’s performative guidance adds a lot to this effect, reaching out with honesty yet also maintaining that confidence required to hold attention in the pop and alternative dance realms. We’re somewhere between the likes of Raye and Goldfrapp, only it’s brief, and Mimah is quick to recapture the identity of the sound as purely her own right now.
