MVI (Mark Vickness Interconnected) I Will Find My Way

-

Music to lift you out of your lull – to soothe the soul and raise the mood, to entertain and impress; everything we hope for when we press play or enter a venue. Mark Vickness Interconnected captures the very essence of all of this, and does so from the very moment the music hits the airwaves.

I Will Find My Way is an uplifting and good-vibes instrumental album of originals, uniting aspects of Folk and Jazz across a complex tapestry of changing emotions and imaginative scenes. The Four starts us off on this journey, promising the intrigue of something authentically new, alongside the comfort of something so well structured and audience-aware that it naturally feels as if it were made purely for you.

Unconfined by genre, driven by a clear passion for playing and creating unique audio journeys, I Will Find My Way meanders freely between styles and intentions – an eclecticism clear from the switch into a more intimate, spacious and thoughtful Squall, and secured by the rhythmic similarity yet world-music-infused tones of the subsequent Three Bridges.

The project in full is an easy pleasure to let fill the room around you. Mark Vickness’ journey has been one of unique struggles and successes combined, progressing from enforced music lessons and no real loving connection to the artform, to adopting a sheer and unadulterated infatuation with the escapism and skill of musicianship in all of its forms. The diverse energy and intricacies of I Will Find My Way speak volumes on behalf of that journey, and in the process offer a string of original compositions, which naturally embrace and reward listeners with the freedom and calm of finely crafted music.

Some highlights include the summertime shuffle and soulful jazz serenity of a catchy More Hot Apple Stuff, the divine delicacy and meditative presence of Cloud Shadows Revisited, and the raw folk rhythm, ambiance, and deeply evocative melody, of the closing track In The Rain Shadow Revisited.

Really though, there’s plenty to unpack and connect with, plenty of moments that shine in a new way all of a sudden, each time you revisit this album. Mark Vickness Interconnected is a musical project that creates tracks straight from the heart, and does so with the support of a lifetime of skilful mastery at the helm. The results are spellbinding.
