Creative producer Offstage prides his artistic approach on versatility and precision, delivering the vibes as well as the unique individual traits that help carve out a memorable repertoire.
As an introduction, from the EP Wolf, Spenglish blends the lightness of summertime EDM tones with a catchy guitar riff and a dreamy overall melodic thread that naturally lingers. Then on the flipside, the other track included in the Wolf EP takes a UK garage influence and weaves a completely different kind of web – still with the same level of intricacy and energy.
The release is infectious by nature but also sets a world-music inspired cultural mood that invites any and all listeners to share in the moment, and this quality appears to extend throughout the distinctly eclectic collection of Offstage music.
As an example, also released in 2024, the album Ear Candy captures the celebratory essence of House music, with more of those distinct vocal threads of melody and a clear ability to craft cleverly panning ambiances alongside tribal rhythms and a generally uplifting sense of rising anticipation.
Tronic Wave is all of this, kicking off the colourful late-night project on a distorted and defiant high. We even veer into gamer-like synths and tones for the latter half – an unexpected evolution that further secures the freeflowing approach of Offstage.
Lost At Night follows and Offstage sets the mood for a more intimate afterparty aura – chilled melodies and layers surrounding a classic rhythm, with fragmented vocals adding a distantly hypnotic degree of humanity to the process. Then in stark contrast again, Beast Hype turns towards the scratch-DJ sound-play of a simpler era, sampling and intensifying as a retro beat and arrangement gathers momentum.
For The Streets is another highlight for its interesting fusion of softness and weight, alongside the iconic House is the religion – a soulful and instantly memorable anthem that’s both smooth and passionate as it confidently raises the bar.
