Brooklyn songwriter and musician Corey White brings a twist of authenticity and heart to modern indie.
The soft-rock tones and home-made, accessible realness of bored heroes are just a small part of why the song connects. The music and writing takes you somewhere new, is thought-provoking and uplifting all at once, and introduces an artist with a spirited yet contemplative style.
Notably devoted to the less-is-more lyrical approach, the writing of bored heroes is refreshingly to the point – not simple, but rather complex in a quiet kind of way. Short lines reflect quite specifically on our bored hero, an almost whispered tone yet a striking, engaging melody, backed by a looping long-form guitar part and an easy live rhythm.
The structure makes fine use of instrumental space, within which the listener can rightfully reflect upon this scene and these images, and effectively apply their own understanding or relative story to the content.

Ultimately recognizable but in a humble fashion, bored heroes is an indie gem well and truly worth stumbling upon.
