Leading with a cleanly-mixed, fearlessly raw vocal line, Just So Over It delivers a consistently descending melody and immediate conceptual clarity, as it slowly but surely evolves into a genre-fusing hit of absolute purpose and integrity.
Featuring a simple four-chord piano-part and organic rhythm section to back up an otherwise minimalist stream of quietly confident vocals, Just So Over It carves out its own pathway in pop music. The latter half injects a retro rap verse that’s completely unexpected, highlighting the full extent of the Trilogy duo’s performance identity. The single then proceeds to offer passionate, soulful moments of additional vocal presence to really mix things up all the more so.
Scathing in subject matter and increasingly emotional in its delivery of this, Just So Over It remains focused and unafraid to reflect on turmoil, whilst creating a memorable, refreshingly simple groove that’s easy to get into.
