Sour Blood - Suas - Stereo Stickman

Sour Blood Suas

-

Haunting complexities and profound reflections build up a sort of cinematic and poetic chamber of sound and uniquely intriguing expressions. Ireland’s Kevin Gleeson is the artistic mind behind Sour Blood, a project from which the album Suas emerges as a deceptively hazy, ultimately complex and compelling collection of original works.

From Landfill to Overgrowing, Suas presents eight original tracks that each feel atmospherically intense and conceptually provocative. There’s a distinct melody to the opener, a rise and fall that brings a distant level of joy and possibility, but meanwhile the weight and uniquely dark characteristics of the sonic arrangement create a sort of dreamy dissonance; a quality that continues throughout all of these eclectic but vocally and contemplatively connected tracks.

Instrumentally unpredictable, leaning in small doses towards jazz and industrial design as much so as indie acts like Radiohead, the sonic power and presence of Suas is a clear calling card of Sour Blood, and the ideas and performances alongside this help carve out an unmistakable pathway for a defiantly devoted artist.
