Sonic Radiation pours through with another ambient banger, perfectly nostalgic yet crisp and fresh enough to take you through the summer nights in style.
Infrared makes for a fairly comforting audio journey, a selection of repeated elements intertwine in a warming and full manner – the resulting track offering precisely the rhythm and tempo designed to leave you feeling strong and capable. With that you get this outpouring of synths, multiple layers and elements, which again add fullness and a fairly hypnotic, soothing quality to the track.
Sonic Radiation is a producer with a decidedly professional approach to making new music, but at the same time, there’s something refreshing about this authentic angle – this utilization of the core elements, the origin of the dance genres – as opposed to the more commonly re-directed EDM releases that take to pop twists or vocals or quirks just to gather a broader audience. In this case, Infrared is everything the dance or trance fan could want – simple yet subtly recognisable details, a consistent sense of movement and energy, and a brilliantly skillful bit of craft-work that lets the whole thing rain down with an awakening vibrancy.
Yet again, addictively enjoyable, and still somehow too short at over five-minutes. Classic, intentional EDM; the gift that keeps on giving.
