Ethereal RnB with dashes of trip hop and trap woven in – an eclectic approach, lightness of design backed by a certain evocative delicacy that is the leading voice – Naesia sets the vibe with originality and appeal, for the brand new EP Indecisive.
Take Me High is the opener, the first Naesia track to hit the airwaves for us, introducing a kind of trip hop / RnB crossover that’s a little like Raye, only more gentle and breathy in its intimacy and references.
Golden follows with a similar set-up and mood, a bigger beat and a catchy hook to elevate proceedings. Then there’s the title track, Indecisive all the more stripped-back and vulnerable – a dreamy arrangement of choir-like vocal layers harmonising on top of a single, reverb-kissed meandering instrument. The style is quite fearless, ambient and raw but effective, and helps draw focus to the versatility and thoughtfulness of the Naesia style.
Mr. Mysterious wraps things up with a little more weight and charm, an ode to classic RnB in some ways, with a modern beat and that same vocal layering that’s now synonymous with this project and the Naesia artistic angle.
