Mackenzie Miller - Peninsula - Stereo Stickman

Mackenzie Miller Peninsula

-

Beautiful music, organic folk-pop with heartfelt songwriting and humble vocals at the forefront. Mackenzie Miller delivers a classic, timeless album, with the eleven original songs of Peninsula.

As an introduction, If I Could Call You is a simple pleasure to lose yourself within. The warmth of the unplugged sound, the delicate vocals and the storyline, are all quick to draw you in. Then for Wasted Talent, suddenly we’re in a more impassioned and familiar realm – a nineties-like, Dawson’s Creek sort of tune and gentle anthem. The voice is still very much Mackenzie Miller, in lyric and tone, but the writing and overall mood leans well in a new direction – making versatility a modest but crucial part of holding your attention throughout this album.

Often piano-led, but with organic instruments surrounding this, the crafting of Peninsula utilises natural performative appeal and equally natural imagery and emotional reflections on life and landscapes.

It’s a joy to let this play, with some stunning songs to discover as you do, and Mackenzie Miller’s humility and unwavering passion, along with her clear talent for the process, helps the music captivate consistently. An easy place to escape into this season and beyond.
