Atmospheric rock, compelling poetic musings, theatrical depth and vocal character – Anglo-French trio LE BRUIT provide an ambient force of creative expression, with the rather intoxicating Idle Hands.
One half of a double A-side release, Idle Hands features an intimate to intense arrangement, from acoustic guitar picking to the dramatic and stage-ready crash of drums and distant intensity. All the while, a humble melody and boldly unique, raspy vocal lead, delivers a timeless alt-folk performance of intriguing lyrics, and we end up somewhere between the likes of gypsy folk and ambient soul-rock.
Unconfined by early expectations, LE BRUIT quickly diversify their style further still, with the female vocal lead and Gospel-style harmonies of a French and English-fusing Au Solde Des Nuits. Here we enter a more sultry guitar groove, personally reflective lyrics and scenes that really take you somewhere new, a haunting dash of cello, and still the overall style and modest drama rings loud as LE BRUIT.
LE BRUIT present a brilliantly original, engaging and interesting style, both immersive and satisfying, whilst maintaining a clear edge of unpredictable artistry – as the passion rises and the melodies tumble down their own rabbit hole of wonder.
