LACHYO Tell Me No

-

Sweeping sonic landscapes bring drama and depth, to an otherwise intimate singer-songwriter approach to vulnerability and expression. Australian artist LACHYO captures a uniquely meaningful series of moments, for the five-track EP Tell Me No.

Beginning with its title-track, there’s immediately a degree of character and revelation to the style. LACHYO’s voice is somewhat laced with delicacy or uncertainty – it’s a humble indie tone, and the lyrics progress from a similar energy to something more empowered and inspiring. The hook resounds like a gentle anthem, motivational for its sense of self-belief and possibility, and surrounded by subtle touches of production charm in these country bends, synths, and playfully tumbling rhythms.

LACHYO is the songwriter, performer and producer, bringing guitars and both acoustic and programmed layers to this eclectic but well-grounded EP.

As we move into The Best, the sentimental and nostalgic reflections continue, while the arrangement depicts the work of a creative with an organic musical ability, which should translate beautifully in the live setting.

LACHYO’s voice is gorgeous, in both tone and artistic substance, and that quality lets the quirky indie-pop flair and catchy melodies of Tell Me No connect with warmth and honesty.
