Gibishki - Tindermare - Stereo Stickman

Gibishki Tindermare

-

Real human connection in musical form – an intimate capture, acoustic and thoughtful, honest and unedited. Gibishki introduces a sublime and interesting new album, with the rising passion and distinct identity of 7 Wonders.

From the 2025 project Tindermare, this opening song lays down an organic, unplugged foundation at first – a fireside performance of naturally unique vocals, fascinating lyrical observations, and a pure acoustic guitar.

We’re then taken on a boldly expressive, artistic journey, as the soundscape gathers unpredictable momentum and distortion, effectively taking things from alt-folk to something like experimental or progressive rock at its peak. But all of this is subtle, somehow, and the return to acoustic fingerpicking afterwards makes perfect sense.

Written and recorded as a means of self-soothing for the artist behind the music, the songs in turn provide the same kind of escapism, comfort, and clarity for those who listen. Eleven original songs make up the album Tindermare, this marching vocal depth a key characteristic, with stronger rock grooves and gentle moments alike meandering through poems and stories that feel vague, mysterious, but always grounded by some easy refrain or resolve.

Antares (Aerie by the Sea) is ambient indie pop, sweeping keys and guitar backing an almost spoken folk vocal, as we enter an imagery-soaked arena of atmospheric embrace. After this, the guitar tone hits indie rock levels, for the raw and energising alternative track Birds of Paradise. The voice and overall recording tone maintain a level of identity – the lyrics too, keeping that Gibishki sound alive, but otherwise, versatility is a central strength.

This little section of the album is actually incredibly diverse, with the simple strum of Shards adding another sunset-ready moment of quiet reflection to bring you back down to Earth, but also not simply holding to that one quality throughout. Each song evolves, grows brighter, bigger, more bold, and the rising anticipation here is not through vocal passion or volume, but an increasing sense of presence, poetry, and weight.

It’s uniquely evocative, ambient as ever but also organic and profoundly human by nature, and this song, in its unusual and familiar traits so carefully balanced, is a definite highlight from the Tindermare album.

The album in full is a fine celebration of the freedom and storytelling, the performative charm and personality of Gibishki as an artist. The word Tindermare is an interesting one, and the lyrics shine some light on that matter, but it’s a project that gifts a little more insight with each revisit – not obvious, but engaging, provocative, and fearlessly original.
