Francis' Scream - Anna Storm - Stereo Stickman

Francis’ Scream Anna Storm

-

Born out of a genuine need for the cathartic process of making heartfelt music – Francis’ Scream writes songs from a place of authenticity and struggle, and delivers them with an air of organic folk-pop that’s both acoustic and vocally distinct.

Anna Storm is the debut single, a guitar-pop song built around a likeable acoustic groove and a simple drum line, and it takes the listener through specific scenes and reflections that effortlessly engage.

The subject matter is relatable, but the storytelling is fresh – contemplations on a new connection, the passion and the adoration, the gratitude, with a few mysterious twists of anger and uncertainty to mix it up – and as such, the song is naturally quite captivating.

Featuring a humble guitar solo to break things up during the final third, Anna Storm is an uplifting arrangement and song, with boldly recognisable vocals in both tone and character at the forefront – a quality that should ring loud throughout all future releases from Francis’ Scream. The writing is also snappy and catchy – short lines and lasting rhymes, which work beautifully within this unplugged folk-pop aura.

Anna Storm is a strong introduction to Francis’ Scream – an impressive debut, fearlessly honest but simple enough to connect with. Hopefully there’s plenty more music on the way.
