EnAge’s electro-pop soundscape brings in a refreshing flavor for 2020’s music scene. Blending delicate layers of detail that seem to take subtle influence from various genres, the whole thing offers a mildly tribal feel, with engaging rhythms that quickly prompt interest in a live show.
As things progress, this RnB-style vocal drives with a decidedly emotional undertone. It’s subtle, the vocal is quiet and calm, but this is the theme of the song – not being hung up on someone, not lost in the moment nor passionate anymore; just content and ready to move forward (or at least this is what we’re led to believe).
The entire arrangement is definitely contemporary yet fairly unique in hindsight – the progression of the melody feels like classic pop, perhaps a little nineties-inspired, though the production is incredibly crisp and fresh.
You can hear the potential for remix, particularly during the instrumental drops when the lyrics fall away. This moment of resolve works beautifully, and showcases the best of the artist’s work as a producer as well as a songwriter. Nicely done.
