Instantly unorthodox yet likable, Come On Come On Come On follows a creatively expressive pathway through layers of nostalgic gamer tones and instrumental licks, always feeling unpredictable yet also well-rooted amidst its own stylistic identity.
Promising a strong groove that’s catchy and occasionally gritty in its twists towards distortion and impact, the single progressively pushes the boat out in terms of its own freedom of design. The whole thing brings through an unexpected vocal layer of soulful love for the moment during its latter half, and continues to smooth out the edges with further changes in melodic direction and tone – whilst always maintaining that essential integrity and recognizable overall approach.
Nicely done, genuinely original and impressively both nostalgic and fresh – it will be interesting to hear where else the music takes Dorothy Zink 1 in the future.
