Drum and Bass has been through a hellish realm of copycat construction over the decades. The genre peaked back in the 2000s, and though it never lost its appeal within the rave and club scenes, the original essence of creativity seemed to lose its grip in favour of simple energy and beat repeats.
Enter Austrian producer dnbmoo, with one of the most intoxicating and refreshingly humble original drum and bass releases in quite some time.
Featuring gentle vocals and a contrastingly heavy bass line both faultlessly produced, Summer’s Breeze is every bit as immersive and euphoric as its title implies. There’s a humility to the design, everything carefully mixed to showcase both a skilled producer and an artist with a natural passion for music in all of its forms.
Summer’s Breeze rolls along with the ability to provide both a calming hit of escapism and a totally uplifting boost of energy whenever the scene requites it. That versatility is key, and to then weave in a subtle but catchy hook melody just tops things of beautifully.
Well-worth a few streams this summer.
