Composer, songwriter and producer Rob Mitchell – known to the music scene as Deep Transit – spins a fresh twist of funk and EDM, with his new ambiently soaring floor-filler Momentum.
From the extended mix LP Frequencies set in rhythm, Momentum employs fragmented spoken vocals, a classic four-to-the-floor groove, retro disco synths along a recognisable melody line, and old-school panning and effects for that fully immersive dance vibe.
Having made waves throughout the modern scene with ten number one hits on various platforms like Radio Airplay and Soundclick, Deep Transit has become renowned for his genre-fusing approach. The artist often holds close to the nostalgia of tech house and deep house from the nineties, but also consistently brings something softly unexpected to the mix.
Momentum is a modest yet effective new track of that nature, capturing an addictive sense of movement and atmospheric warmth, offering a late-night dose of escapism when needed, but simultaneously presenting just enough distinct qualities and tones to prove unmistakable as the creative work of Deep Transit.
