Renowned producer and billboard chart topper Jeoff Harris is the contemplative mastermind behind Cathartic Fall – a solo venture of ambient depths and profound personal reflections.
The project unites a multitude of philosophical thoughts and ideas, with the vastness and juxtaposed intimacy of these soaring sonic arrangements; the likes of which truly embrace the listener in a calming to outright euphoric realm of audio warmth.
As an example, the opening track Before The Fall is a stunning depiction of the talent and attention to detail and mood that Cathartic Fall exemplifies. An intensely awakening audio gem of a track, which sets the album off on an incomparable high.
Also worth noting is the single release Ocean, which connects for similar reasons, but presents a whole different vibe. Breathy vocals deliver whispered ideas and images, alongside a more stripped-back and mellow piano-led soundscape. This piece is perhaps more typical of the vocal-melodic sounds of much of this album – twelve originals that work beautifully when listened to ins succession.
It’s a meditative, inspiring journey, with a timeless and fairly genre-free sense of hypnotic presence and movement to it – on which note, the penultimate track Echo is a fine example, and one last personal highlight from a project that I’ll be no doubt listening to again and again.
