Written by drummer Nick Williford, KEEPER was inspired by the immense ache of having lost his father some years earlier. The song cleverly disguises this concept, however, appearing as a simple breakup song that’s a little more surface-level and easy to sink your teeth into. It’s only when the melody grips you, and the energy of the hook kicks in, that the underlying depth starts to really connect.
Promising slick riffs distinct and heavy, moments of stripped-back contemplation and a clear level of unity that can only be achieved by a band who’ve genuinely honed their abilities over time, KEEPER speaks volumes on behalf of the dedication and passion of Call My Bluff.
Featuring Wes Hatcher on lead vocals and guitar, Alex Willis on bass and additional vocals, Garret Stacha on lead guitar, and Nick Williford on drums, Call My Bluff are a group of esteemed musicians who’d already paid their dues respectably with other bands over the years.
The current line-up was formed in April of 2024, and brought together four distinctly unique experiences and styles, resulting in an explosive and memorable fusion of southern blues and modern rock.
In this case, the diversity of their creative set-up is amplified beautifully, by the fact that Nick has written a song that reaches straight for the soul, and the band are undoubtedly connected and unbreakable in their shared passion for performing it.
