Aquafox - Triggers - Stereo Stickman

Aquafox Triggers

-

Charming basslines and productional fullness create a melodic warmth that instantly sets the mood, before a breathy and compelling lyrical venture adds a whole new twist of intention…

California’s Aquafox artistically relays the complexities of self-discovery, with the brilliant uplift and simultaneous evocative relevance of Triggers.

Increasingly likable for its progression from a smooth set-up through a colourful and creative final piece, Triggers employs contrast effectively from the humble and revealing verses through to the explosive and celebratory yet painful peak of the hook.

The lyrics are dark, indicative of the desperation and lostness felt by so many in the modern world, and yet the music and the chorus feel beautifully hopeful – almost like a pop rock floor filler working in unison with the vastness of self-scorn and uncertainty.

The writing is superb – original and engaging – and the musicianship and resolve work well to satisfy that need for completion and connection that we seek out in audio escapism.

An absolute gem of a an indie track. Aquafox is well worth knowing about this summer.
