Aoshi - Caen - Stereo Stickman

Aoshi Caen

Dreamy production and expressive, captivating Spanish vocals unite throughout this emotive time capsule of a single from rapper and artist Aoshi.

Inspired by the globally impactful death of George Floyd in May of 2020, Caen blends poetic and softly presented rap bars with a simple, equally delicate yet memorable hook repeat. The latter proves a moment that stands as tall as the musical presence of Caen, in terms of reaching out to connect with listeners in an immediately enthralling way.

Lyrically rejecting concepts such as racism and xenophobia, specifically the abuse of power towards afro-descendants, Caen utilises a softly-spoken central vocalist or protagonist to guide listeners through the emotions and indeed the depths of the writing in a consistently enchanting manner.

The music maintains a soulful, melodic warmth alongside this, and always we resolve back to the repeat of that title and hook sentiment – the rhythm of which injects a subtle but effective degree of intensity, to quickly recapture any wandering minds.

Known for his 90’s style beats and exotic fusion of soul and hip hop, Aoshi raises the bar further still, with the notably calm yet critical and creative, immersive and purposeful Caen.

Single out June 20th. Check out Aoshi on Facebook, YouTube & Instagram.
