Searching for creative peaks both unpredictable and satisfying – no easy task, but one with a clear and memorable end goal when sifting through the modern landscape of music. In this case, an instantly unorthodox, quirky and likable fusion of melodies and world rhythms – an artistic blending of classical and bachata symphony. Witness the structure and depth of classical, the Dominican flavours and cultural diversity of Bachata, intertwined for a stylish and uplifting original sound.
Dime Como Se Siente is the perfect introduction to the unique compositions of Bachata Symphony, and is supported by boldly eclectic variations, such as the much lighter, cinematic brightness of Frio – with tribal rhythms, classical meandering melodies, and that again unique meeting between European fragments of dance and the more conceptually vast and ethereal layers of classical music.
Performing sometimes with a live orchestra, but also releasing music as a solo act, Bachata Symphony encapsulates the artistic journey, committing to this new and unique fusion of bachata and classical music, whilst highlighting a versatile sense of composition; offering some new mood and quality for each track featured.
As an example, Kiss Me utilises the same hand rhythms, but a fresh array of synths, strings and instruments, and emotionally presents a kind of intimate, almost melancholy or sultry exploration of the topic at hand. The sound is mildly cinematic, nostalgic, but also impossible to pigeon-hole, and these qualities make up the strong and ever-expanding repertoire of Bachata Symphony.
The Ember EP, from this year, is a five-track collection that beautifully represents this unique pairing of intimate rhythmic grooves and epic, rather mighty cinematic arrangements, and from that project, Calor is quite an outstanding and euphoric highlight.
