The Vanities The End Of Love (Feat. Kaysha Louvain)

-

Cardiff indie synth-pop duo The Vanities join forces this season with award-winning songwriter Kaysha Louvain, for a sharp and sultry 80’s venture that’s as nostalgic as it is smart, and unignorably catchy.

Smoothly blending alternative and timeless mainstream traits, The End Of Love feels original by melody and voice, but also notes similarities with its natural influences – Depeche Mode, Eurythmics; the hazy bass, warped riffs, cascading synths, and a mellow but distinct groove.

It’s an engaging soundscape, the song itself appealing for the performance and tune, but the production highlighting a versatile and colourful degree of escapism, which is a genuine pleasure to lose yourself within. Consider the guitar hits, the edge of funk, the refrains, the melodic downpour, the saxophone. Everything is subtle but crucial to the full journey, and all the while, this concept and title, the song’s hook, rings out and resounds; lingering in the mind, long after the music has stylishly faded out.

Having worked in the past with music legends Tony Hadley and Peter Cox, The Vanities highlight their clear ability and passion for the genre in equal parts, with the songwriting strength and seamless charm of The End Of Love.

The new single features sublime guitar-play from Catatonia’s Owen Powell, along with saxophone from Jack McDougal, and was produced with Al Steele, at Shabbey Road Studios.

Single out everywhere September 19th. Find The Vanities on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram or visit their Website.
