The hook is a little confronting, Faithful but unpleasantly juxtaposed within its short resolve. It’s part of the process though, something distinct and lyrically unedited from Hollow Profit – a quality that rings loud in a different way throughout the verses.
Mortal Men is only 2.5 minutes in length, but the beat is recognisable, the flow varied, the story focused and honest, and this lets the track do exactly what it needs to, in order to introduce the introspection and quiet confidence of Hollow Profit.
