Montana duo BLVDS blend poetic pop songwriting with the rising energy and escapism of electronic dance and pop-punk, for their gentle to anthemic single Two Sides.
Beautifully produced, seemingly programmed but with a refreshingly organic overtone, the contemplation of Two Sides is well-represented through both the lyrical and musical journey. The voices meander from intimate and nearly whispered, to those whole-hearted pop-punk rises that provide the impassioned heights of the song’s hook. And then we fall back down to the ground, a juxtaposition gorgeously presented, and even followed by a completely unexpected saxophone solo.
Bridging the gaps between genres, enjoying the process but also reflecting on the significance of the human experience, BLVDS connect well with this style and songwriting approach. A beautifully euphoric single, which naturally deserves to make the rounds through playlists and radio stations alike.
