After an almost four-year hiatus, Maryland artist and songwriter Dwane Cenque recaptures the attention of the scene, with his unforgettable new single GOOD GOOD.
Built around a timeless RnB groove and trap rhythms, GOOD GOOD ignites a sense of passion for both nostalgia and originality – bridging the gap between eras, and offering an earworm of an anthem that naturally raises the bar.
We were blessed with the chance to interview Dwane Cenque, to find out more about the music, his journey so far, his plans for the future, and plenty more. Here’s how it went.

Hi Dwane – thanks for the chat, and huge congrats for the release of GOOD GOOD. For those new to your music, who or what was your earliest inspiration?
When I first started music professionally, I felt like I was breaking free from a place of heartbreak and sharing my life story of depression and also sharing the stages of love I was feeling. Inspired by my favorite artists like Neyo, Usher, Brandy, their music shifted my ears to learn how to sing harmonies, melodies and tell a good story through music.
I also spent lot time over the last 4 years doing some much needed spiritual and physical therapy after Covid-19 and I finally got to a place where the story of love felt exciting and sensual to sing about and I wanted to give my audience a reintroduction to who Dwane Cenque is.
Tell me about the making of the song – what came first creatively, and what was the production process like?
I usually finds my beats on YouTube. YouTube is my go to for everything haha. So I found the beat for Good Good during a night workout session and immediately fell in love with the sound. The beat is actually an Ariana Grande-inspired beat, which I’m a lover of Ariana’s music. It was perfect for the vision I had.
The beat made me envision moments of sexiness and enjoying the company of someone. The vibe is so good your enjoying the moment and craving the energy and chemistry this person brings. I’m typically able to feel the mood of a song just by listening to the sound and instruments so it just comes to me naturally. I wrote the hook first then wrote the lyrics and when I got that the studio. Everything started flowing from the start and to the final Master.
I have to give gratitude to my Music Producer; Sean Williams, Creator of the beat; Denz Denz and Live More CEO; Diardey Fisher for their contributions to this project as this became one of my most favorable songs of my entire catalog.
Beautiful vocals bring back that nostalgic RnB flow, the production also feeds into this – what is it about classic RnB that draws such passion from you?
I was born in 95’ so growing up in the 2000s, we had so many great RnB hits! I love how RnB music of that time just made you get up and dance or gave you a healing anthem. It’s something about vocals that transcends so smoothly on a track but also the harmonies and melodies are what I enjoy most. I also love the alternative genre of RnB where the sound is vibrant but so creative in the story telling narrative. That was the feeling I wanted to bring to my next project following my last single FFTR (Far From The Rest).
You’re also rumoured to be working on a debut album – is this single typical of the style we can expect from that? Are there any exclusives you can give as to what the album will entail?
Without giving away too much haha, I definitely can say that this single represents the next stage in where I am musically and what folks can expect to come. I plan to bring more fun up beat music but also more ballads so that I can share the growth in where I am vocally now. My voice has gotten more mature, sharp and strong and I can’t wait to share this new journey with my fans. Especially the day ones who have been apart of my music journey from my very first single “We Tried”.
How did you come to connect with Live More Music & Media Group LLC, and what has this partnership brought about for you in terms of opportunities and progression?
I was introduced to Live More by my good friend Diarday Fisher. Back in 2018, we discovered each other on Instagram by the same Videographer; Karon Wilson and his production company; Gemini Filmz. We connected and shared our journey in music and became really good friends throughout the years. When he mentioned his vision and plans to start up Live More and provide more support to indie artists and proposed the opportunity to work together, I was beyond excited. I’ve been an indie artist for 7+ years now and I was definitely at a point in my life where I needed more support, guidance and exposure and that is exactly what Live More is about and I cannot express enough gratitude for his support along this journey.
Given your life long commitment to music what’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned as an artist so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is trusting myself more through the process. I’m a cancer, so a lot of times I second guess myself and always wonder if what I’m writing/producing is enough. It’s a tough challenge at times but I’m learning now to walk in faith and trust that I have a given talent to write and produce music. So I’m happy to share that I’m working each day to have more confidence now and being smarter about the choices I make in regards to investing in music, because music can definitely be expensive, but I believe in my craft – I’m learning and willing to bet on myself as long as I know the vision will be great.
What’s your biggest ambition or dream – any collaborations in mind, or any venues you aspire to grace the stage of?
My biggest ambition is to definitely perform at the award shows like the Grammys, MTV, BetAwards etc. If there were any collaborations I could have, I would definitely the opportunity to work with Mario, Usher, Neyo, Chris Brown, Brandy, Victoria Monet, Coco Jones, Normani or even Monica.
Is there anything else we need to know?
You can continue to follow my Music Journey and stay up to beat on my next release by following me on all platforms @DwaneCenque and stay tuned because I’m keeping all the dope the vibes coming!
