KC FULLY LOCKED (Feat. SISCO)

-

Versatile artist and rapper KC, currently on the verge of launching a handful of genre-fusing originals, recently released a nostalgic rap anthem and video in the form of the raw and home-made FULLY LOCKED.

The artist KC makes music from a place of sheer self-discovery and acceptance, and as such, his tracks seek to connect with those on a similar journey.

Noting a classic Hip Hop beat and rhythmic vocal hook, FULLY LOCKED is performed in KC’s home language, but utilises an equally nostalgic set of visuals for relatability – depicting him and his crew engaged in the bars and performance. It’s a familiar but easy to vibe to set-up, with distinct vocals at the forefront for that essential thread of identity from one single to the next.

At its core, this feels like a smooth and fairly lo-fi ode to self-empowerment and drive, with a few gritty street-rap references that are humbly detectable. There’s even a musical switch during the final fifth, a new beat and some slow motion visuals to reinforce the closing idea of ‘CHOOSE LOVE NOT HATE’. Despite the darker undertones of the music and delivery, the track maintains this optimistic positivity, inspiring a sense of belief and motivation that will hopefully connect well.

In example of his limitless creative intentions, KC’s latest release utilises a completely different stylistic approach. Just Wanna Dance is a catchy pop anthem and floor-filler, with an English-hook that’s a natural earworm. That leading voice still offers a rap thread for the verses, but the musical production and intentions all showcase the clear versatility of the KC sound.
