From truly great songs to a question about authenticity in the age of AI bands, The Marches have intrigued and then unsettled, but the music remains fantastic – if it’s truly the work of a live band.

The Habit is a great song, one of the most engaging of the year, with dreamy rising vocals, unique storytelling, and a huge rock crescendo to finish. It’s one of several slowly emerging releases from The Marches, and the melodies, the harmonies, the passion and instrumental riffs, all achieve a likable balance between alternative rock and mainstream musical escapism.
