Atmospheric live music and lush vocals present a gorgeously soothing EP. Jazz-rooted vocalist and songwriter Heather Ferguson collaborates with a talented band of musicians, for the five-track project Jammin’ Under Jack.
From the timeless romantic charm of North Star, through the brighter uplift and quirks of Never, Never, Never, right through to the smoky jazz hi-hats and old-school bravado of Charade, this EP celebrates the history of jazz in a vibrant modern fashion. It also showcases the natural ability, versatility and depth of Heather Ferguson’s voice, with a series of new songs that quickly and consistently set an enjoyable and hopeful mood.
In an age of overly generated copycat music, the live band recordings feel all the more moving and valuable. On that note, Jammin’ Under Jack is a true joy to let fill the room at volume.
