Featuring ten original songs, The Last Paradox introduces itself with the storytelling depth of Postpartum, then quickly injects one of the album’s most hypnotic and impressive songs of all.
Benz in Hell is a classic jam but with captivating verses that work hard to intelligently and heartfeltly elevate things to some genuine new plain. G Nukes is modest but confident, faultless in rhythm and rhyme scheme, and still manages to keep things honest and engaging along the way.
Other highlights include the piano-led grit and struggle of Black Rose Lamborghini, a smooth vocal fluidity backed by a ballad-like hip hop groove that’s evocative in itself, and G Nukes puts in another compelling performance.
The bars are a little more eclectic here, less rhythmically certain, more performative and emotionally loaded – driven by passion first and foremost, and that makes for a welcomed change of direction.
Another track with a similar balance of familiar musicality and original, thought-provoking lyrics is Champagne Corvette. This is a song that keeps you on your toes, keeps on injecting some new scene, event or reference that takes you back a little. It’s a classic rap vibe but there’s something fresh and unpredictable to G Nukes’ storytelling, and songs like this capture the essence and nuance of that perfectly.
Finally, adding eclecticism and dynamic, singer Krista Woods features for a sultry hook and lighter tone, as I Love You, Yo! wraps up The Last Paradox with a deep-dive into romantic connection and the lasting high of escaping the rat race with someone who means the world to you.
This closing track is unusual in melody, but satisfying in its structure and resolve, and the title cleverly lingers with you after listening.
It’s a great way to conclude the journey of the album, but it’s really just a small part of something much bigger – something conceptually and stylistically grounded by purpose, confidence, and ambition.
