Resonaura - Neverland - Stereo Stickman

Resonaura Neverland

-

Sonic electronic rock balances ambient escapism and delicate, distinct riffs, with an impassioned and catchy crescendo of a hook. Resonaura blends rock and modern production to utilise contrast and power perfectly well, for the intoxicating highs and lows of Neverland.

Beginning with a kind of nursery-rhyme aura in its quiet contemplation and instrumental riff, Neverland is quick to assert its emo rock influences alongside, and indeed to represent the effective, ethereal production and songwriting of Resonaura.

We get tumbling rhythm sections distantly mixed, careful panning, distorted power chords and playful electronic waves, all before we drop back into the simple and satisfying earworm of the hook. That seems to be the key here, contrast working its magic to allow a boldly alternative verse – something like Nine Inch Nils in its whispered darkness and conceptual complexity – to feel much more accessible and engaging, thanks to the easy drop to something familiar, recognisable, and repeatable.

Great production, great vocals, a new metal, emo-rock performative nuance and clear emotion and poetry at the helm, with a sonic arrangement that’s beautifully supporting that beating heat of concept and melody. Neverland is a huge new track, with plenty of addictive energy at its peak – the perfect alt-rock anthem to lose yourself within, and to use in your own clips and playlists this summer.
