Sea Breeze Nighthawks

-

Slick riffs and a cool creative fusion of all things jazz, funk, psychedelic and rock – Nighthawks is the low-key quirky and catchy new single from a distinct Sea Breeze, and its organic make-up and lyrical simplicity make for a colourful, lovable vibe.

Fellow Mancunians Sea Breeze note influences amidst Khruangbin and Yin Yin, while carving out their own clear niche as a superb live act and creatively genre-fusing songwriters.

Featuring an instrumental fluidity and unity combined, which places the band somewhere between the likes of lounge, jazz and funk, there’s something clearly characterful and unconfined about all things Sea Breeze. Nighthawks is musically snappy and smart, recognisable and uplifting, but also productionally minimalist to a degree – something you don’t find all that often these days. The mix is non-confronting, the track surprisingly modest at just two minutes and fourteen seconds, and the effect is that it both entertains and leaves you keen to hear more.

Built around a confident dance between the bass, guitar, and drums, the live sound of Sea Breeze is likely to engage and impress all the more so in the stage setting – check out the video below to see why.

The band regularly perform around Manchester and elsewhere, and are set to embrace audiences on July 12th, for The Second Coming of The Jack Off – a fundraiser for the essential and renowned Christies, taking place at AATMA. They’re also hitting the stage on the 19th of July, with nostalgic media sensations The Cheeky Girls. Not to be missed.
