Sarah R Jay Sea Of Sorrow (A Plea For Stray Souls)

-

Established melodic techno and EDM producer Sarah R Jay, noting hundreds of thousands of streams on her original tracks, makes the anticipated move into singer-songwriter territory, whilst providing an essential voice for the voiceless, with the heartfelt new release Sea Of Sorrow.

Inspired by the devastating plight of abandoned animals, Sea Of Sorrow is a song that acts as a plea for stray souls. The track was released in honour of International Homeless Animals Day, on August 17th, and seeks to positively impact and influence listeners and, in particular, the UAE Government, to make changes and help end the suffering of thousands of animals who walk the streets.

A passionate rescuer of stray cats since 2018, this cause is close to Sarah’s heart, and that inherent connection and passion can be heard at volume throughout the sublime ambiance and evocative vocal depth of Sea Of Sorrow.

Designed with care but also noting those iconic and euphoric layers of synth, rhythm, and a moving chord pattern – as per her expansive repertoire – Sea Of Sorrow goes on to weave in fast paced yet breathy and expressive vocals, to guide us through this distinct and poetic ode to the voiceless.

Long-form verses develop a sense of intimacy and poignancy, as Sarah explores the pain and suffering of the domesticated animals left to struggle at the side-lines of civilization. We build through these scenes and reflections, towards a breakdown pre-chorus that’s melancholic and enticing, before the crucial drop into that hook resolve of Sea Of Sorrow – and the subsequent euphoric escapism of Sarah’s classic EDM arranging and composing.

Heart-breaking by nature but also cleverly catchy and leaving both its melody and subject matter lingering, Sea Of Sorrow is a mighty debut vocal track from Sarah R Jay, as well as a powerful new dance-pop anthem; with a crucial sense of purpose and altruism at its core.

In recent months, Sarah R Jay has also launched two new instrumental tracks, featuring a bold and intoxicating use of piano at the forefront, and maintaining an electronic brightness alongside that classic organic layer. The euphoric intensity and haunting uplift of Deep in the Abyss, and the more thoughtful, mellow and contemplative embrace of Dubai’s Moonlit Glow, provide an all-encompassing audio journey, which pierces through the weight of the world with intention and skill.
